Your turn… Take a minute to step outside yourself, then look inward…. Answer what you want… HERE
On One Leg.
You are only as good on two legs as you are on one.
We have all developed strategies for movement patterns. Many of these are compensatory strategies to make up for some minor asymmetry in strength or range of motion. We become habituated to movement patterns, just as we are habituated to our repetitive thoughts. This is not specific to athletes, or people who train in a physical craft, but anyone who walks, gets up from a chair, empties a dishwasher, gets into a car...your movements are mostly automatic...and sometimes at a high cost to your function.
Training for Life.... Every Day.
Exhausted is not necessarily suffering. Exhausted can be exhilarating. Exhausted can be wrung out to the extent that you let go of what is holding you back. It is the place of finding depth, staying in when you want to get out, deciding to find your own limit, choosing to show up, getting past your first wind so you can get to your second wind. Exhausted is your body saying ‘thank you’ for the reminder that you are alive. It is a sign that you are in training, and every moment is strengthening you for this life and whatever life-quakes arise. And this training, this getting stronger; it requires peeling away layers to get vulnerable and real with yourself.
