Athlete-specific yoga with Jess is an all-levels training practice designed for pre-teens, teens, and college-level athletes to prepare their bodies and minds for peak performance in athletic endeavors. These sessions focus on both the physical aspects of strength, flexibility, core work, breath focused training, endurance, and injury prevention, to complement training and competition; as well as mindfulness, performance visualization, breath training for relaxation, and body awareness.
Jessica Ackerman, SLP, RYT has brought Yoga and Meditation Training to Division-1 Football team, Division-1 Basketball players, US-National level swim teams (2), High School Sports teams, Olympic swim training, Nationally-ranked US rower, Age-group running team, Age-group swim team.
This is an opportunity to join the many elite and professional athletes (Tom Brady, LeBron, Shaq, Kevin Garnett, Amanda Nurse (elite marathoner), and the Seattle Seahawks led by Coach Carroll), who practice yoga and mindfulness meditation as part of their regular training and performance preparation routine. Teams will optimize physical and mental strength and flexibility, with specificity in sport training, while developing skills to manage stress, improve focus, and build self confidence. Through yoga-based movement and breath management, athletes will cultivate self-awareness and interconnectedness in an accepting, non-judgmental environment. Each session will conclude with a guided visualization meditation to promote mental resilience, stillness for recalibrating the body and mind, mental focus, and performance enhancement.
